It is unique in its kind in Greece, and its collection of live-recordings is far-ranging, but most important are the live-recordings of traditional Cretan music, some of which have been released on LP records. The studio's equipment is of the highest quality and the possibilities it provides are endless.
Palaeography, of the Division of Byzantine and Modern Greek Philology. Its aims are the research, study and specialization in the science of palaeography, and the collection of unpublished hagiographic texts in microfilms, their study and publication.
Papyrology and Epigraphy, of the Division of Classical Studies. It is the first of its kind that has been established in Greece, and its aims are the research, study and specialization in the sciences of Papyrology and Epigraphy.
